What is Botox?
BOTOX is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum Type A, approved by the FDA for use as a cosmetic enhancer. When small amounts of this protein are injected into localized areas under the surface of the skin, the muscles that cause crows feet, frown lines, and forehead lines are relaxed allowing the skin above to lie smoothly and naturally, eliminating the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Is Botox Safe?
BOTOX injections have been approved for use as a cosmetic treatment by the FDA and has been used successfully as a wrinkle-reducing therapy for more than 10 years. Because very small amounts of BOTOX are precisely injected in localized areas during each treatment, no serious side effects occur. Some patients may experience temporary bruising or tenderness at the treated area.
Can Botox reduce perspiration?
Botox injections are one of the newest and most popular ways to prevent excessive sweating. When injected under the arms, this temporary solution blocks the body's chemical signal that stimulates the sweat glands and inhibits their production. With Botox underarm injections, you will be dry and confident all summer long, and because the benefits of Botox injections are long lasting, you'll be sweat-free for months.
Will it look natural?
When Botox is injected by a trained professional like the RN at Faces of Helena, the results are natural and subtle but can dramatically improve your appearance, leaving you looking refreshed, radiant, and more youthful.

After the Injection
After the injections patients might experience slight bruising around the area that quickly fades. Normal activities can be performed immediately. Possible side effects are temporary weakness of nearby muscles or in rare cases an eyelid may droop. Any side effect is only a temporary condition. All risks associated with it will be explained at the time of your appointment.
Botox or Restylane: What is the difference?
The most popular anti-wrinkle treatment nowadays is Botox. It can last around 3 to 6 months. Another popular treatment is an injectable filler Restylane. There are other injectable fillers on the market; however, at Faces of Helena we prefer Restylane as it is made from Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance present in all living organisms, it is present in your own skin and serves to provide volume and fullness. The major difference between Botox and Fillers is that Botox focuses on immobilizing or relaxing the facial muscles to relieve wrinkles, whereas Restylane focuses on tissue filling to treat the age lines. Is Restylane Safe?
Restylane is a safe and a natural cosmetic filler that is immune to drawbacks given its unique chemical composition. While infrequent, potential side effects associated with the use of Restylane include: redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and moderate pain. In those instances where side effects are present, they typically dissipate within a few days.
Recommendation
Sometimes the best result is a combination treatment which can be determined and explained upon your appointment.
